UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA CHAMPAIGN

DEPARTMENT OF COMPARATIVE BIOSCIENCES

Full-time, 100% (9 month basis) Lecturer

The Department of Comparative Biosciences invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer. Candidates must possess a DVM or an equivalent doctoral degree, and have experience in course coordination, teaching medical skills, and teaching pathobiology in a veterinary professional curriculum.

We are seeking a creative, highly motivated individual to coordinate the first year courses in the veterinary medical curriculum, teach veterinary medical and safety skills, and teach pathobiology. The DVM curriculum at Illinois is based on an integrated body systems format, with a heavy reliance on experiential and team-based learning. The successful applicant will participate in developing teaching materials, preparing and delivering lectures in a formal classroom and laboratory settings, and conducting examinations. The candidate will also develop and/or evaluate new educational procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a DVM, or an equivalent doctoral degree, and experience teaching in a veterinary professional curriculum. In addition, the successful candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills. The appointment will begin on or about August 16, 2018.
