Department Overview
The Office of Student Finance and Cashiering Services is responsible for providing student account information, receiving payments for tuition and fees, installment payment plans, collection of delinquent accounts, IRS Form 1098T reporting, and delivering refunds and financial aid proceeds.

Position Details
The Student Finance Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Director, Student Finance Customer to join our team. The Director of Student Finance will work very closely with the offices of Accounting, Budgeting, Finance, Registrar, and Financial Aid to ensure accounting entries are recorded correctly and student accounts are accurate and up to date. This position will provide excellent customer service, administer third party contracts, handle special University agreements, and participate in audits. The Director of Student Finance will manage 3-5 staff professionals and assist the Senior Director of Financial Operations in all Student Finance accounting matters.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Provides direct support to Student Finance staff in handling of administrative, technical, operational, and accounting duties within the Student Finance Office.
* Assist with Financial Operations in all accounting matters related to federal and institutional loan programs, including assisting with preparing the annual Fiscal Operations Supplemental Application to Participate for Federal Perkins Loan (FISAP) and Annual Operating Report (AOR).
* Assist students, employees, and visitors with general information about UNTHSC.
* Manage, handle, and oversee the accounting responsibilities of sub-ledger to general ledger account reconciliations.
* Create and maintain item type codes that drive accounting related functions.
* Oversee third-party financial remittances of private housing partnerships, and billing of sponsored programs, both internal and external.
* Term set-up and testing within Student Finance People Soft environment.
* Oversee all accounting entries and reconciliation of alternative loan programs.
* Provide leadership to department staff.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Demonstrated success in leading the development, management and communication of complex financial reports and budgets in a collaborative environment.
* Experience in academic health science center or higher education setting.
