In support of this mission, Graduate Programs Office is searching for a Student Engagement Program Associate. This individual is a key contributor to providing high quality customer service to meet the student and program needs of GWSB.

The position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Student Engagement within the Graduate Programs Office. It does not have direct staff reports but may schedule, train and supervise temporary staff or student workers. The position requires flexibility in the work schedule to provide for participation in night and weekend events.
The Student Engagement Program Associate works in conjunction with the Senior Associate Director in the development and delivery of all MBA student engagement events and activities and assists in coordinating and executing the student engagement communication strategy.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide event logistical planning and support for orientation programs, Alumni Roundtables, MBA Colonial Cup, graduation activities, incoming student on-boarding and various other activities designed to enhance the graduate student experience.

Directly advise student organizations under the MBA Association umbrella organization to ensure events and activities are well supported and effective.

Ensure all events are conducted within established budgets, on time and meet GWSB specifications.

Coordinate room reservations, audio/visual services, participant registration and logistics, vendor contracts and payments, program materials and other documents, catering and supplies for seamless event delivery.

Contribute to the Graduate School newsletter to promote and/or report on Student Engagement events.
Scout for events in which the Graduate Program Office can participate

Perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate should be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, be detail-oriented and able work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong writing and customer service skills are highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communication skills a must.

This individual will also have experience working with students, diversified professionals and with external vendors in organizing/managing events.

Proficiency in MS Office specifically in Microsoft Excel and Publisher

Working knowledge of Constant Contact, website management and social media, using space reservations systems (VirtualEMS).

The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a small, strong team as well as independently to achieve program goals and objectives. Selected candidate has the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, facilitate decision making and conflict resolution, maintain a positive and constructive demeanor treating all staff, students, faculty and vendors with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
