GLOBAL PROGRAMS COORDINATOR
Duties: The Global Programs Coordinator performs a wide range of front-line services related to the delivery of global program information to Penn students and campus partners, with a special emphasis on supporting the Global Internship Program, Penn Global Seminars, marketing and events, and other strategic programs and initiatives. The role provides base-level advising to students interested in all global program opportunities at Penn, including the coordination of Penn Abroad drop-in advising and first response to inquiries. The Global Programs Coordinator directs inquiries to appropriate staff members in the team, judges the urgency of situations, assists with staff and visitor scheduling, and executes ongoing reports on programs and enrollment. The role also assists in the coordination of student ambassadors and returnee programming. The Global Programs Coordinator works closely with the Senior Associate Director, Programming, and provides administrative support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required with 1 to 2 years of experience in higher education or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in database management and systems including Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Commitment to student service and ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and university representatives from different cultural backgrounds. Excellent judgement and ability to deal with difficult situations. Experience working, studying or living abroad. Familiarity with higher education in other countries. Previous experience with Terra Dotta/StudioAbroad preferred. Preferred start date is June 6, 2018.
