FCH DEPARTMENT COORDINATOR
Duties: Provides administrative support requiring initiative and sound judgment for the Family & Community Health Dept. Chair; includes extensive calendar management, meeting preparation, travel plans and expenses; maintenance of integrated filing and tickler follow-up systems. Coordinates and staffs meetings, expedites items with financial impact, coordinates support for personnel actions, serves as a liaison for extensive communications. Supports the grant proposal process for assigned faculty; maintains bio-sketches, types and formats manuscript tables and graphs; maintains faculty publication database updates and conducts library and online searches.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required; BA/BS strongly preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with competing deadlines and priorities. Excellent customer service essential. The position requires strong initiative and sound judgment with the capacity to exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive matters. Solid written and oral communication skills with the ability to compose and edit written documents essential. (Writing samples are required.) A systems thinker with a results orientation is needed for success in this role. Demonstrated intermediate to advanced level PC skills including all facets of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and the ability to effectively utilize the Internet as required. Proficiency with Canvas and End Notes preferred; knowledge of Courses in Touch a plus. Ability to work independently as well as an effective team player. Fast keyboarding needed, at least 50 wpm. Knowledge of University policies and procedures desired.
