Benefits Manager

Job description

The Benefits Manager provides leadership, compliance and program management for institution-specific benefits and compensation programs.  Monitors and analyzes benefit-related payroll transactions and the service of outside providers to ensure on-going quality transactional service. Reviews existing policies/procedures related to College benefits and compensation programs and recommends modifications to same and/or drafts new policies for consideration. Serves as a consultant to administrators, supervisors and employees, providing guidance on human resources issues. Supervises administrative support staff.   QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field plus five years of full-time work-related experience including supervisory experience required. Higher education experience preferred. CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist), GBA (Group Benefits Associate) and/or RPA (Retirement Plans Associate) preferred. A valid driver’s license and insurability to drive College vehicles is required. Hiring process includes a background check. Position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval. NOTE: College degrees obtained outside the U.S. accepted only when interpreted by transcript service members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
