Sponsored Research Administration
This position provides accounting/fiscal support and services on state and federal contracts and grants within Sponsored Research Administration, which manages $200 million in research expenditures annually for the university. The position is responsible for the financial and cost accounting for the Sponsored Research Trust Fund, the integrity of accounting data, as well as manage and/or participation in the F & A proposal process.
Specific duties include the review of auxiliary charges for compliance with applicable federal regulations and contract/grant terms and conditions, assisting in the review of documentation to support new & revised auxiliary rates in conjunction with the Budget Office, serving as liaison with the Budget Office and Controller's Office on auxiliary initiatives and efforts, and conducting training presentations to departments on auxiliary compliance. This position is responsible for producing reports and analyzing accounting data for the Office of the VP for Research, the University, Federal agencies, State of Florida agencies and the Board of Governors, etc. as well as participating in the annual preparation of FSU financial statements and the Schedule of Federal Assistance schedules.
This position will manage and/or participate in the F & A proposal process by developing, documenting and implementing procedures that ensure a credible and dependable rate allocation methodology; Training University staff on CRIS and WebSpace software systems used to develop the proposal. This position serves as a liaison with the Facilities department for consistency in space data systems. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing, documenting and implementing procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the Sponsored Research information systems and other related activities.
Other duties and special projects as assigned. This position requires incumbent compliance with University Confidentiality policies.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience.
Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.
Ability to perform accurately in detailed work environment.
Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business management and two years of experience. Experience with Microsoft Access. Experience using PeopleSoft/Oracle.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
