Job description

This position provides information to students for patient assistance programs and social programs; provides initial assessments for mental health, supports mental health department within the KSU Health Clinic, processes forms and may be required to do therapy with patients. Some supervision of undergraduate/graduate Social work students may be required.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is a comprehensive counseling center that provides preventative, educational, and remedial mental health and wellness services to currently enrolled KSU students. CPS's multidisciplinary staff of licensed psychologists, licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrist, and psychiatric nurse practitioner work together to ensure the delivery of effective treatment. The Counseling Professional I delivers a wide range of clinical services including initial consultation, diagnostic and treatment formulation, short-term individual counseling, psychoeducational and process focused group counseling, consultation to the campus community, and crisis intervention. This person in this position must be able to provide culturally sensitive services to a diverse student body who presents with a variety of challenges including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, trauma, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and academic/family related stressors. This position will also participate in CPS's outreach efforts by developing and delivering psychoeducational programming for the campus community.

Minimum Hiring Salary:$49,300 based on 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in clinical/counseling psychology, and 3-5 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a strong generalist who can work effectively with a wide range of clientele, but should also have particular expertise in one of the following areas: group counseling, working with racially/ethnically diverse clients, trauma survivors, severe and persistent mental illness. We seek candidates who are flexible, who will work well with our existing team, and can operate effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced service delivery system with minimal supervision. Additionally, this position also serves in the CPS after hours on-call rotation.
