The University Human Resources (UHR) Space Manager is responsible for diplomatically organizing the space needs of University Human Resources. The incumbent liaises with HR executives, managers, and individual team members in managing space needs and coordinates with the Health System, Facilities Management, the Business Operations team, and other potential 3rd party vendors. Specific responsibilities include maintaining and updating UHR's space data and floor plans to ensure accuracy; providing space reports and analyses to the Executive team as requested both in graphic and tabular formats using a variety of software products; and creating, organizing, and enforcing standards for space requests, including needs for furniture, accommodations, and ergonomics. This is a full time term-limited salaried position with benefits for up to 18 months.
A bachelor's degree is required but experience may substitute for a degree. Four years of project management experience, in space or facilities management is also required. Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication are essential, as is the ability to facilitate projects to successful conclusions on established timelines.
The ability to manage complex information and provide specialized advice, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information for diverse audiences at different levels of the University is also required. Proficiency with Space visualization software such as Viseo and with Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook is required. Experience with space management at the University of Virginia is preferred as is certification in project management.
