Duties: The Coordinator manages the Department of Landscape Architecture in direct collaboration with the department Chair, including teaching/ faculty affairs, budget development and management, day-to-day operations, course planning and scheduling, student affairs, admissions, lecture series, special events, publications and social media. Coordinate faculty searches, appointments, promotions and reappointments. Coordinate the 3 and 4 Summer Institute programs for students entering the MLA programs. Oversee and supervise the work of the Academic Coordinator and the Administrative Assistant. Hire and train replacement staff members. Coordinate the hiring and payroll needs of part-time faculty, student teaching assistants and research assistants.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Ability to work independently and manage other staff is required. Ability to multitask and work in a team is required. Detail oriented, exceptional organizational, communication and writing skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign), preferred. Graphic arts, arts education and program management background, preferred.
