Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a PeopleSoft Financials Business Analyst. The position will focus on the Financials domain of the ERP (ConnectCarolina) project, primarily Commitment Control. The position will also include PeopleSoft General Ledger and reporting work on a secondary basis. The role will work with a team of business analysts and developers to develop and implement integrated solutions across all Financial Management System (FMS) and Human Resources (HR) modules. The position will serve as an advocate for user constituents and promote acceptance of new processes and systems. The position will identify high level business and information system requirements, and evaluate functionality and develop strategies. The position will also negotiate resolutions of conflicting requirements and will recommend business process changes where applicable. This position will have knowledge of external trends and best practices. The position would also function as an analyst responsible for day-to-day support of PeopleSoft functionality for multiple financial modules. The position would act as a functional resource for technology development requests, including projects, enhancements, upgrades, patches, break fixes, and related areas within the Financials Management, Supplier Relationship Management and Enterprise Services Automation modules. The position will also monitor production support ticket queues. The position would understand PeopleSoft data structures and be able to effectively solve complex issues.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Qualification and Experience: Required - Position requires ability to write clearly and concisely, and interact with users of varying levels of expertise. - Selected candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others; must have outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to effectively motivate personnel at all levels of responsibility. - Position requires strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead discussions and meetings focused on problem solving. - Must have ability to provide excellent customer service by responding to requests from and provide support to others in a professional, accurate, and timely manner. Preferred - Experience in a production support environment, and strong analytical skills to be able to perform detailed root cause analysis and resolution. Attention to detail and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Visio. - Bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university preferred. - Prefer experience with PeopleSoft Financials modules, or with a comparable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application, such as Banner, Oracle E-Business Suite or SAP. Experience can include: PeopleTools, PSQuery, App Designer, light PeopleCode, nVision, CI, application engine programming and trace file analysis; familiarity with PeopleSoft Approval Framework (workflow); SQL skills. - Prefer functional knowledge of all PeopleSoft Finance modules, but primarily experience with the Commitment Control module. Knowledge of PeopleSoft General Ledger, AR/Billing, Grants, Contracts, Projects and Accounts Payable is beneficial. - Prefer in-depth understanding of business processes and underlying accounting. - Candidate should be a self-directed, creative thinker with a focus on process improvement. Should have good experience in conducting Business Process design workshops. - Prior experience working in higher education is preferred.
