Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of hardware and software for PC and Mac, including ability to install and trouble shoot.
Knowledge of web design and social media use/strategies.
Skill for training others in use of technology applications and software.
Strong customer relations skills, including ability to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruption.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and effectively support users in a professional manner.
Ability to understand complex technical literature.
Skill in preparing clear, concise, and grammatically correct communication via technology such as web sites, social media, and digital signage.
Demonstrated training or education in technology skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software in an organization
Experience designing and maintaining professional web sites and social media
Knowledge of IT applications and best practices
Experience with Texas State University systems and technology

Job Description:
Responsible for providing technical support to the faculty and staff of assigned department by installing, troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software and audiovisual equipment

Job Duties:
Trouble shoot and repair hardware and software.
Install and upgrade network cards, software, and equipment.
Install licensed software.
Provide technical back-up in the design, development, testing, and implementation of PC based applications.
Create and distribute PC and MAC OS images.
Perform periodic software updates.
Train faculty, staff, and employed students on technology resources and instructional software/applications and on social media.
Maintain and install hardware and software in the department computer lab and for employee work environments.
Provide support for video conferencing such as installation, set-up, and training.
Develop a plan for purchasing specifications.
Train users on equipment and software.
Assist in developing custom applications.
Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and licensing information.
Perform preventative maintenance against virus problems on computers.
Construct, design, and update departmental web sites using the university's systems (GATO and Wordpress).
Set up social media accounts and strategies, train users, and assist in updating.
Maintain and update the department's digital signage on a regular basis.
Communicate department news and activities via the department's web sites, social media, and digital signage.
Share department news with the College and University communications persons for posting and release to news media.
Assist management with a variety of special projects.
Maintain user license and computer inventory information.
Perform other duties as assigned
