Enterprise Directory Engineer
Position SummaryResponsible for identity, authentication, and authorization systems at MSU. Will collaboratively support and improve a highly complex Active Directory environment while continuously evaluating and making recommendations for improvement of the technology landscape, including areas such as system/software testing, monitoring, data scrubbing and migration, and software deployment. The Enterprise Directory Engineer will help establish and improve business processes around support, customization, and development of highly complex IAM systems; meet with customers/teams to identify requirements for IAM projects in support of multiple cross-campus and external systems. Strong problem solving and technical skills required.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience administering authentication systems such as Active Directory, Kerberos, LDAP, and RADIUS in an enterprise-level environment; experience as a development lead or team lead; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired QualificationsExperience with identity management systems such as Sail Point, Forefront Identity Manager, CA Identity Manager, Quest One Identity, etc.
Experience with single sign-on systems (SSO) such as Azure SSO, Microsoft Enterprise SSO, Oracle SSO, CA SSO, MSUs Sentinel Single Sign-On, etc.
Experience with Identity Federation Systems such as Azure AD, ADFS, Shibboleth, Oracle Identity Federation, CA Federation, etc.
Experience with Multi-factor authentication systems such as Symantec VIP, Duo Security, Google Authenticator, etc.
Experience with encryption technologies and infrastructure such as BitLocker, EFS, PKI, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to collaborate in cross-functional and cross-departmental teams; strong critical thinker and detail oriented.
