Asst./Assoc. Professor, Computer Science Engineering
The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department in the College of Engineering at The University of Toledo (UT) invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in its Computer Science Engineering (CSE) program at the Lorain County Community College (LCCC). This program is offered at the LCCC, University Partnership Ridge Campus, 30 miles Southwest of Cleveland, Ohio. This faculty position would provide instruction for face-to-face courses at the University Partnership Ridge Campus beginning fall 2018. This position will be a continuing, non-tenure track appointment, renewable annually, conditional upon satisfactory performance. Candidates are sought with broad expertise and interest in teaching CSE courses (e.g. Database Systems, Human Computer Interface or HCI, Linear and Non Linear Data Structures, Object Oriented Programming including C++ and Java, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Theory of Computations, etc.).
The successful candidate will be expected to (i) Teach effectively at the undergraduate level; (ii) Engage in curriculum development as well as instructional lab enhancement; (iii) Guide senior design teams; and (iv) Participate in high-impact service activities. The faculty member is expected to be at the University Partnership Ridge Campus five days per week. It is possible that the candidate will collaborate with EECS faculty on scholarly research.
An earned Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or in a closely related domain is required. Ongoing professional and scholarly engagement in emerging areas of computer science is required.
