Summary of Duties:
The Access Center Coordinator consults with and advises students with disabilities, reviews documentation, determines reasonable accommodations, and oversees delivery of Access Center services to eligible students with disabilities.

The Access Center Coordinator promotes student self-advocacy and self-determination. This position is responsible for providing direct service to students, including meeting individually with prospective and current students to evaluate disability documentation and determine eligibility as well as to discuss and implement appropriate accommodations and services.

Additionally, this position independently advises students on personal, academic, and social concerns; fosters communication with faculty and staff regarding the implementation of accommodations and services; collaborates with the sign language interpreter coordinator through Clark College; develops and presents student and faculty informational workshops; and allocates tasks to part-time temporary employees in order to facilitate accommodations and services.

Finally, this position tracks aspects of disability services including disability documentation, interpreter requests, furniture requirements, and special requests.

Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
