Nature of Work

The Surplus Property Coordinator is responsible for the physical pickup, and transfer of surplus items to the proper storage facility. This position performs warehouse duties, such as organizing, maintaining, cleaning and revising storage systems in the assigned warehouse space. Within the warehouse the Coordinator will be required to operate a forklift to move property, as well as use other equipment to properly dispose of surplus property. Additionally, this position will tag assets and assist the campus with their required periodic physical inventories.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year experience working in a warehouse setting, dealing with storage, tracking, and distribution of either capital assets or physical inventories. Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is a basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel. Valid Driver’s License and Forklift Operator Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates that have knowledge of the recycling process of salvage metal and other materials. Additional preferences include, knowledge of DOAS rules and regulations pertaining to surplus property, and experience in operating delivery vehicles and forklifts.


$13.28/hrly minimum - $15.93/hrly midpoint

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Position is both physical and intellectual in nature. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in extreme environments of dust, heat, and cold. Daily activities involve a considerable amount of walking and lifting.
