Budget Analyst - Intermediate
Nature of Work
Administer all budget processes for assigned areas of the university’s operations by: preparing budget development worksheets, reviewing for accuracy, approving for budget input; determining accuracy of financial system coding; determining compliance with university policies and procedures for budget transactions; managing and maintaining the position management system for assigned areas; processing budget amendments; assisting departments with budget reconciliations and other business processes; developing EXCEL databases, templates, graphs, etc. for reporting purposes ; creating queries in PeopleSoft financials and ADP position management system; serving as liaison with departments for information gathering and reporting; projecting revenues for various revenue sources; troubleshooting budget issues; and providing training on various budget topics.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or business-related field or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university along with a minimum of 5 years of budget-related job experience.
High proficiency in MicroSoft Excel required. Experience with ADP or PeopleSoft financials preferred. The successful candidate will possess strong problem solving, critical thinking, organization, and time management skills; demonstrate superior customer service; have the ability to work independently; be self-motivated; and have the ability to work cooperatively in a high activity, open office environment with a diverse group of individuals.
$52,056/yrly (minimum) to $65,676/yrly(midpoint)
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to sit for long periods using a computer keyboard and mouse. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Leave time needs to be coordinated around reporting deadlines.
