The Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention, Program in Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to study malaria epidemiology and vector biology.
We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated individual. Areas of particular interests are: 1) molecular epidemiology and 2) population genomics of malaria parasites or mosquitoes. The position will involve considerable field work in Kenya and Ethiopia.
The candidates must hold a Ph.D. and possess an outstanding publication record. Candidates should have a strong background in one of the following areas: Epidemiology, Ecology, Genomics, Bioinformatics or Molecular Evolution. Prior research experience on mosquitoes or malaria parasites is not required. Must possess strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills and proficient working knowledge of bioinformatics, microbiology, mosquito ecology and vector-borne diseases
