RESEARCH TECHNICIAN II - NEURO ONCOLOGY
Neuro Oncology

  • Perform work related to mouse models, including injections, surgery, monitor behavior, and collection and preparation of tissues for histological analyses, RNA/DNA/protein isolation.
  • Perform a variety of technical assays, including PCR, q-PCR, Western blotting, ELISAs, gel electrophoresis, and cell culture.
  • Operate laboratory equipment required for specific tests.
  • Prepare culture reagents, chemicals, and solutions.
  • Document, compile, analyze, and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results.
  • Review laboratory methods, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments.

STRONGLY PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience in cancer biology a plus. Research experience involving mouse models. Experience with IACUC protocol submission and regulations a plus. Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and approach laboratory procedures with critical thinking of the technical aspects.
