The Faculty Instructor conducts assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purposes of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. Also responsible for scholarly and creative activities (professional development) and service to the college.

Should have the knowledge/experience necessary to perform the following duties:
1. Instruct a sequence of courses in the following subject areas:
a. Mathematics courses in the curriculum through the semesters of college level calculus.
b. Statistics courses including MAT 135
2. Serve as a division student advisor for the A.A. and A. S. degrees.
3. Maintain required complement of office hours.
4. Revise or develop new curriculum as appropriate.
5. Fulfill college committee assignments.
6. Maintain working relationships with appropriate departments at colleges and universities where course articulation agreements with Aims is important.
7. Teach evening classes when assigned as well as be willing to teach online math courses.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department and/or the Division Director.


Minimum Qualifications

1. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis.
2. Master's Degree in mathematical discipline from an accredited college or university and the ability to teach required courses.
3. Experience in teaching math courses.
4. Ability to work effectively with students and faculty.
5. Ability to establish and maintain positive yet professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and administrators.
6. Ability to work as a team member as exhibited by a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.


Preferred Qualifications

1. Community College teaching experience preferably in mathematics or applied statistics.
2. Doctoral degree in appropriate discipline.
3. Computer literacy and the ability to use technology in classroom/lab instruction.
