Degree and Area of Specialization:
BS or BA required. Preferably in biomedical engineering, animal science, molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, or biology.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Previous laboratory experience preferred. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
Molecular and PCR experience
Experience with experimental animal surgery
Experience with 3D printing
Experience with mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) research
ELISA, immunohistochemistry experience
License or certificate:
The Comparative Orthopaedic and Genetics Research Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research group focused on solving orthopaedic problems and genetic diseases that affect animals and humans. The laboratory is located in the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison. One of the laboratory's greatest attributes is the strong collaborative relationships that exist between the laboratory with the School of Medicine, the College of Engineering, and data science researchers in several departments across campus, as well as collaborations with other institutions and corporate entities. Financial support for the laboratory includes both federal and non-federal funding agencies, medical and veterinary foundations, corporate partners, and private donors.
This position is for one year from the start of the appointment. If funding is available, the position may be extended for another year or converted to renewable.
