Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree in education, social work, or related field is preferred.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required Qualifications:
* At least one year of professional or equivalent experience working with high school student populations, including direct classroom instruction, small group activity facilitation, and conflict resolution.
* Experience with learning technologies, education for work opportunities, and developing partnerships is desired.
* Commitment to quality service and to the program mission and goals.
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal communications skills.
* Strong oral communication & writing skills.
* Ability to work independently, to problem solve and to adapt to a shifting variety of duties and work schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:
* At least five years professional experience working and living in the Oneida community area.



License or certificate:

A valid driver's license is required to transport students on field trips.



Position Summary:

The Oneida-area Student Success Outreach Coordinator is a staff member of the Information Technology Academy, situated within the Academic Technology group at the UW Division of Information Technology, and reports to the ITA Executive Director. ITA Oneida sessions are held face-to-face in the Oneida Tribal community of Wisconsin several times throughout the year, and is complemented by a comprehensive online distance-learning curriculum, as well as Madison-based field experiences. The professional in this position will behead quartered at the Oneida site, but required to travel to Madison occasionally.

The Information Technology Academy (ITA) is a pre-college technology access and training program for high school students sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Information Technology (https://at.doit.wisc.edu/information-technology-academy/). In alignment with the UW-Madison Inclusive Excellence diversity initiative, the Information Technology Academy provides services to diverse students with the ultimate goal of increasing their enrollment, retention, and graduation rates at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Through its triple focus on academic preparation, leadership development, and technological literacy, ITA prepares promising students for learning and leadership in the 21st century digital age.



Additional Information:

This position can be located in the Green Bay/Oneida area. This position requires travel to Lac de Flambeau and Oneida.

Occasional weekend work required for this position.
