Advertised Job Summary: The director of Fraternity and Sorority Life promotes a positive profile of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life by providing overall advisement, training and support to recognized social fraternities and sororities at the University of South Carolina. The director is instrumental in shaping a fraternity and sorority master plan that encompasses current and future chapter facilities and addresses leadership development, facilities priorities, and other educational, community building and risk management programming needs of Greek organizations. This position will also support the University's mission and goals through participating in recruitment and retention activities, as appropriate, for prospective and current students. Primary duties include but are not limited to: *Mentors student members of the fraternity and sorority community by assisting in the orientation of advisors. Works with Greek student organizations and national chapters to create and maintain accurate and comprehensive Greek membership and participation on campus. *Manages financial resources, within budget limits, in accordance with University guidelines and under the guidance of supervisor by planning, developing and monitoring the departmental budget. *Designs and implements assessment mechanisms that evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services offered by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life *Serves as the direct supervisor to a team of staff
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree in Student Services or related field and 7 years' experience in student services program area.
