About the Unit
The University of Chicago Campaign: Inquiry and Impact (http://campaign.uchicago.edu), the most ambitious and comprehensive campaign in the University's history, is raising $5 billion to support faculty and researchers, practitioners and patients, and students and programs across the University. Launched in October 2014, the campaign supports priorities in every division, school, department, and institute, and aims to engage 125,000 alumni and friends over its five-year duration.
- Plan and implement strategies for a coordinated program of leadership annual giving for the College. Meet goals and benchmarks for the College's leadership annual giving program.
- Plan and implement strategies for a coordinated program of leadership annual giving for the College. Identify, cultivate and solicit alumni, parents and friends who have the capacity to make financial commitments of $25,000 and up. Plan and execute a target of 75+ leadership annual gift solicitations per year, with 100+ corresponding prospect visits.
- Using a class-based model, lead discovery activity for an assigned decade or decades of alumni. Build and manage a portfolio of leadership annual and major gift prospects by qualifying suspects and cultivating current donors. Recruit and staff reunion-based volunteers and donors. Contribute to pipeline development by qualifying suspects in order to identify new major gift prospects and by soliciting prospects for upgraded gifts.
- Support major gift officers by connecting them with reunion volunteers. Develop opportunities that leverage class engagement such as class challenges. Meet goals and benchmarks for the College's leadership annual giving program. Develop and model best practices for leadership annual giving and support other gift officers in soliciting leadership annual gifts from their prospects.
- Drive reunion giving and secure leadership annual gifts from College alumni, parents and friends. Co-direct the College's reunion program. Collaborate with Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Team as well as the Major Gift Team within College Development. Collaborate with staff throughout Alumni Relations and Development to increase leadership annual gift activity on behalf of the College.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of the College giving priorities and annual funds. Develop short and long-term plans for soliciting and stewarding donors. Travel as necessary to visit prospects - both individually and in tandem with College leadership and volunteers. Deliver timely and effective follow-up in various forms to prospects and donors, including customized fundraising proposals. Generate timely contact reports in prospect database following prospect or donor visits. Participate in meetings and events as needed.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher required.
- A minimum of three years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales or similar professional work experience required.
- A minimum of one year of leading a project team or managing staff preferred.
- Prior fundraising experience preferred.
Technical Knowledge or Skills:
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, including Griffin (the University's Donor Relationship Management System), Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business.
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.
