The Senior Research Analyst will report to the Senior Manager for Research Administration in the Pediatric Research Office, housed in the Mailman Center for Child Development. This person will take primary responsibility for the financial administration (pre and post award) of Clinical Trials within the Department.This person must be able to prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced environment, have superior attention to detail and be highly organized.The following job description reflects the support that this position must provide.Specific responsibilities include: PRE AWARD ACTIVITIES: Guides faculty through the proposal process including: Reviewing funding opportunities/program announcements to ensure institutional and P.I. eligibility. Preparing and reviewing budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with University and Sponsor procedures and regulations. Collating study related documents including IRB, Protocol, ICF and draft CTAs. Preparing accompanying PCRF-L/S forms for P.I. and Departmental approval and tracking them through sponsor negotiation, contract execution, conflict of interest disclosure and account set up.POST AWARD ACTIVITIES: Preparing accurate and timely account reconciliations summarizing financial information. Provides financial management services involving the projection of personnel cost, the preparation of detailed invoices and the review and approval of project expenditures. Prepares purchase order requisition for subcontract, service agreement, and/or to closed subcontracts. Ensures expenditures on all accounts do not exceed budgeted levels for needs beyond established budget, and works with Faculty/Administrators/Supervisor to identify alternative sources and/or to request funds. Adheres to establish processes and checklists - not limited to: costing allocation, payroll accounting adjustments, reconciliation and contracts tracking log, document(s) routing for signature, and scanning all documents to establish electronic filing process. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree is required. At least 5 years of work related experience in research administration, preferably in a pre-award capacity. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and schedules and work independently to achieve goals. Excellent computer skills including high level of familiarity with Excel, required. Must have diverse and extensive experience with the pre award process and application systems including Info Ed, Proposal Central, Grant solutions and other agency mandated application systems. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work under minimal direction. Qualitative Requirements: Must be detail oriented, possess strong analytic and communication skills, have a strong background in math and comfortable with advanced computer software such as spreadsheets and database programs. Interfaces with departmental clinical faculty, hospital related faculty, cancer center related faculty, administrative personnel of the cancer center, department and senior representatives of other departments. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority.
