The Clinical Access Department has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Patient Access Representative. The incumbent will be assist Clinical Physicians with high volume patient practice, handling all patient related calls and following up on physician directed orders and procedures by scheduling and/or obtaining necessary authorizations and assisting with patient needs as it pertains to their care with the department. Perform other duties as assigned.



The minimum requirements are High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of relevant work experience including patient telephone and/or face to face contact (or customer service) in a high volume medical office or hospital setting. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University Of Miami School Of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination. Failure to meet this requirement will result in rescinding or termination of employment.
