Executive Director, Career Center

The Executive Director of the Career Center at the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine is a senior leadership role within the School and is responsible for the overall development and management of comprehensive career, professional development and employment services customized to meet the specific needs of each of the Merage School's nine master's and one undergraduate degree programs. The Executive Director sets objectives and develops strategies designed to provide career planning, professional development and employment services to its constituent groups consistent with a globally ranked, top-fifty business school. In addition to overseeing the management of all operations and budget of the Career Center, the Executive Director has a high degree of autonomy in developing programs, identifying necessary resources and setting long-term strategies which have a major impact on the national ranking of the School. Developing long-term business relationships with global, national and regional corporations to provide the school with partnership opportunities is a key function for the Career Center and the Executive Director. S/he is responsible for establishing strong relationships with and representing the school at national, regional and local professional organizations such as the MBA Career Services and Employers Alliance (MBACSEA), the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), and the National Association of College and Employers (NACE). In consultation with other administrators including the Merage School's External Relations department, the Executive Director manages relationships between the school and corporations with primary attention given to recruiting issues.
