Visiting Assistant Professor - Accounting
The College of Business at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR invites applications for an anticipated one (1.0 FTE), nine month Visiting Assistant Professor to begin September 16, 2018 ending June 15, 2019. The accounting program includes a B.S. in Accountancy and a PhD program.
Research and teaching expertise in all areas of accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be considered. A doctorate in accounting from an AACSB accredited school by the start of employment is required. Recent graduates should show strong potential for high-quality research. Experienced candidates should have a record of high-quality published and/or in-process research consistent with their level of experience. Demonstration of recent excellence in teaching, mentoring of students (including PhD students), continued research productivity, and normal service activities related to an accounting program with strong ties to the profession are important expectations. Collegiality and a strong interest in maintaining a well-respected accounting program is a must. Other preferred qualifications include professional certification and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Employee benefits are excellent. Oregon State University is on the quarter system. A normal teaching load in the College is five courses per year. Research-active faculty members typically teach for two 10 week quarters of a three quarter academic year. The College of Business moved into a new building in September 2014 and the College provides access to a number of data resources, including WRDS.
