Job Summary:
SUMMARY:

Under the direction of assigned supervisor, perform a variety of specialized and supervisory duties in the development and preparation of various special projects, including but not limited to coordinating and facilitating training, scheduling, planning, implementing, testing, designing and developing publications and other marketing materials, and related instructional tools; supervise and lead projects including project personnel.

This position is responsible for a variety of duties for special projects in the Business Services Division. Currently, a majority of projects will involve Workday, our new Financial and Human Resource system. Projects identified in the next year are streamlining Year End processes, implementing Procurement cards, enhancing electronic payments and implementing our Foundation in Workday. We also anticipate ongoing analytical projects to maximize the Business Services Division functionality in all of our software systems.

We are seeking an individual that will help take us to the next level in maximizing our use of technology.

Experience in Accounting is preferred as most projects will require an understanding of bookkeeping, financial statements, policies and procedures. If you do not have experience in Accounting, please detail in your cover letter how your experience translates for this position of District Projects Supervisor in our Business Services Division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plan activities of designated projects to ensure objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.

Confer with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.

Direct activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.

Supervise project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.


Direct and coordinate the evaluation and monitoring of implementation of technology projects, including preparing, editing, revising, printing and distributing training materials, including correspondence and other materials as necessary.

Lead the coordination of project evaluations.

Lead the development and implementation of user training course outlines in accordance with project priorities.

Maintain training, record keeping, and financial records as related to project. Prepare and maintain a variety of records, files and reports related to special project implementation; compile information for various reports.

Maintain a cooperative relationship with college and District Services departments. Coordinate with department directors on business process recommendations and any problem resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:

Any combination equivalent to: a Bachelor's Degree which includes college-level course work in business, public administration, education or related fields.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years increasingly responsible supervisory/management/leadership experience, preferably in an educational or business services setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE OF:

Specialized functions of business and operations in a government or education environment.
Principles and practices of supervision and training.
Modern office practices, procedures and equipment including telephone techniques and etiquette.
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.

ABILITY TO:

Perform specialized and supervisory duties.
Train, supervise and evaluate personnel; assign and review the work of others.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Plan and organize work; work independently to meet schedules and timelines.
Learn to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Maintain records and prepare reports.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping, Accounting, and/or Budget.
- Experience with implementation of financial systems, preferably Workday.
