Job Description: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral position in developmental psychology. For more information about the department, visit In the laboratory of Dr. Christine Li-Grining, the successful candidate will work on an interdisciplinary project with researchers from New York University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Harvard University, Fordham University, and LUC. The lab team will be investigating predictors of well-being among low-income, ethnic minority children who participated in the Chicago School Readiness Project (CSRP) as preschoolers and who are now adolescents. The CSRP is a large, federally funded project, which implemented a multi-component mental health intervention in preschool classrooms and has involved follow-up waves through high school. Studies will address topics such as self-regulation, academic achievement, friendship quality, behavior problems, and protective factors. The postdoc will work with Dr. Li-Grining to conduct studies on the development of children and adolescents who have participated in CSRP. The successful candidate will be involved in several different aspects of the project, such as measurement aggregation, data reduction, data analysis, and manuscript preparation, including papers conducted in collaboration with other team members as well as the candidate's own. Responsibilities will also include training and mentoring of students and staff, and supporting the CSRP team in securing new funding.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology (e.g., developmental, clinical, or educational psychology) or a related field (e.g., prevention science or public policy). Outstanding data analytic skills are required, including proficiency in OLS regression and multi-level modeling (e.g., HLM or equivalent). Proficiency in structural equation modeling and familiarity with MPlus or Stata is required, as well. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work independently, professionally, and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Excellent organizational as well as oral and written communication skills are required. Training or experience with topics,such as development among racial and ethnic minority families in urban, low-income communities, educational evaluation, risk and resilience, and children's socioemotional development are desirable.
