Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment



I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Assistant Director of Admissions & Recruitment will manage the general oversight and day-to-day functionality of the recruitment of new students. This includes outreaching to and communicating with prospective students, applicants, and admitted students. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities include:

- Outreach Efforts
• Build campus outreach program to meet prospective students directly, through career services, faculty, student advisors, and student organizations to bolster both GWSPH brand awareness and knowledge of public health academic and career opportunities
• Identify potential sources and implement targeted events to increase diverse student population
• Manage the Student Ambassador program
• Oversee Alumni Outreach Program for admitted students, and work with Alumni Relations on further engagement opportunities for alumni to participate in recruitment
• Meet with prospective and admitted students to counsel through the admissions process

- Recruitment Events
• Responsible for executing strategic recruitment initiatives, and tracking recruitment expenses
• Coordinate participation in and represent GWSPH at external and recruitment events such as Graduate Fairs, School Visits, and Virtual Events; travel required up to 20%
• Plan all admissions events, including but not limited to: Open Houses, Preview Day (campus and virtual), Prospect Visits, Department Events
• Collaborate with online vendor regarding recruitment events and program representation in marketing materials

- Marketing & Communications
• Create and continually edit school prospectus and other admissions print materials
• Devise and implement strategy for admissions-specific communication and social media initiatives
• Design and implement ad hoc digital campaigns based on ebb and flow of admissions and recruitment cycle
• Plan and coordinate yield and melt avoidance incentive programs and strategies, fostering a sense of community with incoming class
• Work closely with Communications Office to ensure proper branding/marketing and coordinate digital marketing strategy
• Select and purchase campus branded materials to further promote GWSPH programs
• Liaise with Central Graduate Enrollment Management marketing to maximize efficiencies in recruitment between the university and school

- Recruitment Analytics
• Assess event survey data and suggest action based on findings
• Gather and analyze recruitment data, including pipeline programs, applicant sources, and conversion rates
• Oversee CRM prospect management and follow-up, and tracking the analytics on communication campaigns
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Higher Education or related field

Experience with any or all of the following systems: SalesForce, Banner, DataMarts, Data Transfer, SOPHAS or other Liaison CAS System

Graduate admissions experience
