Requisition Title: Assistant / Associate Professor - Neuromuscular Neurologist - 1801290

The Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine at the University Health Network/Sinai Health System (UHN/SHS) and the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto is seeking a Clinician Teacher or Investigator with a focus in neuromuscular diseases. The successful applicant must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The effective start date is as soon as possible.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful applicant will have fellowship training in neuromuscular disorders, including both clinical and electro diagnostic techniques for the evaluation of peripheral neuromuscular disorders. He or she will have established expertise in clinical care in neurology and neuromuscular diseases.

The successful applicant will have specific additional training in research or education such as a master's degree, or equivalent, and will join a multidisciplinary academic neuromuscular clinic and must be a collaborative "team player". He or she will be able to create and sustain an effective teaching program in the area of neuromuscular disorders if hired as a teacher, or establish and sustain an independent research program if hired as an investigator. He or she will demonstrate academic excellence through publications in leading journals, presentations at significant conferences, and research grants and awards.

The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the UHN/SHS neuroscience program. He or she will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research aspects of the UHN/SHS and the University of Toronto, if desired.

Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $225,000 - $250,000 and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.
