Position Summary: The University of Alabama School of Music is seeking an Instructor of Cello with a growing national reputation as a teacher and artist level performer. This is a one year appointment with full benefits. Primary duties will be to recruit and teach students in applied cello at the undergraduate and graduate levels, maintain a nationally recognized studio, and maintain activity as a performer at the regional/national level. Other teaching duties may be assigned including courses in music appreciation and chamber music.
Minimum Preferred Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: Successful recruiting and teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred. Documented performing experience at an artistic level with appropriate terminal degrees earned. (Master's Degree required, DMA preferred, although significant and documented teaching/ recruiting and performance experience will be considered in place of earned degrees.) The successful candidate will demonstrate a wide spectrum of success in the discipline of music.
