University Communications


The Social Media Associate will support FSU’s social media presence in the broader social media landscape to reach current and new users. The ideal candidate exhibits exceptional communication skills, professional maturity, integrity, discipline, a positive attitude and is comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, developing appropriate posts to relay institutional messages, information, news and activities. Support campaigns and initiatives to engage FSU users. Regularly review postings on social media to ensure consistency with the University’s messaging and branding efforts. Responding to posts. Stimulate and facilitate discussions through social media. Create social media appropriate graphics, gif’s and/or videos.


A Bachelor's degree in a relevant area and two years of communications, public relations, marketing, and/or advertising experience; or a high school diploma or equivalency and six years of the same experience.
Knowledge of social media platforms, trends and services. Copy writing skills as well as knowledge to successfully design and oversee online communications. Experience in multimedia content development and visual communication through graphic design, photography, and/or videography are preferred.


Proficiency in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Adobe Spark
Creativity and strong attention to detail

Anticipated Salary Range

$12 to $18 per hour based on experience.

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.


Expected to work up to 20 hrs weekly. Working some nights and weekends may be required.
