This position serves as Administrative Support Assistant to the Chair and Travel Representative & Purchasing Representative for the Department. This position also serves receptionist and provides support to faculty and staff. Serves as the Departmental receptionist, directs visitors to the appropriate faculty and staff member, and acts as resource person for faculty, staff and students. Maintains resources materials for the department, including class schedules, office hours/phone listings, and bulletin boards. Responsible for the management of the departmental mail, both incoming and outgoing. Maintains calendar and conference room schedule. Ensures timely completion of all photocopying requests for the department, and assists with photocopying as necessary. Responsible for department’s text book adoptions. Provides word processing and data management services as need by faculty and graduate teaching assistants. Assists with the administering of make-up exams, maintains security of exams and scheduling testing area; act as liaison to SDRC. Attends workshops and training sessions as necessary. Prepares travel authorizations, requests and expense reports; including travel card processes. Prepares requisitions, purchase requests and receipts; including SpearMart and purchase card processes. Stays abreast of all departmental and university policies and procedures for purchasing. Serves as the Departmental Property Records Custodian. Responsible for the department’s property inventory. Maintains all property records.
