This position is with the University Business Administrators Program located in the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
This position is responsible for activities related to the accounts payable function within the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) located at Florida State University.
Responsible for the accurate and timely payment of NHMFL invoices. Performs the audit and payment of vendor invoices, proper application of credit memoranda and refunds, and the initiation of accounting entries related to vendor payments. The audit must ensure the propriety of payments, compliance with prompt pay. Reviews and prepares "Payment Request Forms" for other special payments. Works with vendors and NHMFL staff to resolve billing problems.
Responsible for accounts payable and disbursement transaction research to assure the accuracy of input for the NHMFL internal accounting system. Assists with Auxiliary billing process to include preparing invoices and monitoring receivables.
Responsible for cash receipts, Check Log, Deposits and Credit Card Processing. P-Card reconciler for NHMFL, assures compliance to P-Card rules. Acts as liaison to other FSU departments for routine business transactions.
Assists in the reconciliation of NHMFL Accounts, including OMNI and other accounts. Assists in the development and enhancement of the internal accounting system for the NHMFL.
Bachelor's degree or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience performing accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel, and other applicable computer applications.
Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Anticipated Salary Range
Salary commensurate with experience.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
