Advise and assist students, with a strong emphasis on first year student issues and programming. Duties include teaching introduction to college first year student seminar, monitoring academic progress, working with students experiencing academic difficulty, and assisting with new student orientation sessions. Will also serve as departmental liaison and advisor to upper class students, advise transfer students, review records for completion of degree requirements, and provide interpretation and explanation of college and university degree policies and procedures.
Master’s degree in Education, Student Personnel Services or related field required. Two to five years of experience required; previous experience in higher education recommended. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Experience with program evaluation and/or data analysis utilizing Excel and other database systems preferred. Must be able to work well with a variety of constituencies, work independently and take initiative; attention to detail is imperative. Teaching experience strongly preferred.
