Job Description:
The Campus Network Services Manager encompasses administrative, academic network and client support. This individual works closely with the Director to meet College, Campus, and Departmental missions and goals, in the context of how they relate to Campus Network Services. The Network Manager is expected to take an active leadership role in planning Departmental goals and objectives, as well as in helping bring them to fruition.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Manages several operations within the department that include but are not limited to classroom support, special events setup and operation, coordinates moves involving computing, printing, and media equipment as applicable to the campus
•Installs and maintains a reliable operation of servers and related computing resources, to include network security, backup of servers, disaster recovery, documentation of resources, optimization of server performance and reliability
•Repairs, tones, configures, upgrades network operating systems, and application systems on network workstations and servers
•Provides cost effective technology solutions to support student learning and administrative efficiency while adhering to College standards
Minimum Requirements:
•Master’s degree in an appropriate field and two (2) years of experience in networking and/or enterprise level computing with at least one (1) year of experience maintaining network servers and supervising technical staff; or Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and six (6) years of experience in networking and/or enterprise level computing, with at least one (1) year of experience maintaining network servers and supervising technical staff
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge of virtualization technologies, Windows Active Directory, group policies, and management tools as well as Linux, scripting tools, reporting tools, programming languages, relational database systems, and instructional equipment
