The Department of English at Clemson University seeks highly qualified and motivated candidates for multiple Lecturer positions starting in Fall 2018. Lecturers in the English Department are responsible for teaching a 4/4 course load and the 9-month salary is $34,000. These will be annual renewable positions with benefit packages. Additionally, there are summer online teaching opportunities.

Desired candidates will have strong commitment to teaching General Education classes. The typical course load will be composed mostly of 1000-level Composition; 2000-level Arts and Humanities Literature; and 3000-level Advanced Writing (Business, Technical, Scientific) courses. We especially seek instructors committed to teaching writing through innovative approaches that may include multimedia and digital literacy methods. A strong background in teaching undergraduates is required. In addition to teaching courses, lecturers will actively participate in the life of the department and engage in professional development opportunities provided by the university. Appointment begins August 15, 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS

MA in English, or MFA in Creative Writing required. ABDs and Ph.Ds welcome. Experience with teaching online desired. Desired candidates will have strong commitment to teaching General Education classes.
