Director of Institutional Equity and Compliance
Wichita State University (WSU) in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Director of Institutional Equity and Compliance.

The University currently has multiple programs and projects providing support and resources related to access, equity, accommodations, needs and concerns. These include various departments such as Title IX Office, the Office of Equal Opportunity, and Student Conduct. In order to provide a consistent and coordinated approach and effective utilization of these resources, the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance will be established and the current resources will be re-aligned under a unified vision. This newly-created department is committed to advancing equal opportunities in all University programs in accordance with applicable laws and University policy. The Director for Institutional Equity and Compliance will provide strategic, operational, and collaborative oversight of the University’s current policies, procedures, programs and practices in support of this objective.
This position will be responsible for providing leadership to the University’s educational access and equity programs. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring the University’s monitoring and compliance with laws, policies and procedures relating to discrimination on the basis of age, race, color, sex, national origin, religion, disability, protected veteran status or other protected classifications.
Specifically, the Director will have primary responsibility for enforcing the University’s non-discrimination policies; ensuring compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Clery Act, as amended by the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (VAWA), the Americans with Disability Act (ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to equal rights and non-discrimination (Non-discrimination Laws).
The Director will supervise a team of professional staff and work collaboratively with University faculty, staff and students. The Director will manage the budget and administrative operations of the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance and will have a consulting relationship with the University’s General Counsel and will report to the University Director of Operations.
