Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of IT Support Technician. The purpose of this job is to provide outstanding customer service and innovative ideas by listening to our customers' needs and utilizing the technology available to us to provide effective and efficient solutions. This position provides support to Lynn University students, staff and faculty with IT related technical questions, challenges and issues and assists them in creating trouble tickets, and resolving hardware, software and service related issues. This job also entails providing IT support before, during and after on-campus events including; planning for the event, setting up and tearing down workstations, portable wireless antennae and network cabling necessary for the event, installing software, testing setups and documenting procedures to make the event successful for our customers. Enthusiasm, positive mental attitude and a smile are all requirements for the persons applying for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Providing technical support for students, staff and faculty.
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PC, laptop and Apple hardware, Windows, Apple OS and iOS.
Configure, update, test, install, troubleshoot and support software applications.
Install and troubleshoot computer peripherals and other hardware.
Provide desk-side, remote and telephone support for IT related issues.
Document processes and procedures for daily operations.
Assess risk related to implementations, upgrades and changes.
Identify, communicate and escalate service impacting issues in a timely manner to customers, technicians and manager.
Coordinate and prioritize workload to meet timelines and expectations.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Preferred certifications: A+ and Network+
Ability to clearly and politely communicate with end users and technicians on their level through both written and verbal means of communications.
Familiar with: Microsoft Office Suite, Scripting silent installations, Print Server Management, AV troubleshooting and support, Apple OS and iOS and able to navigate Apple's OS easily, Microsoft Windows OS
Preferred: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT), Help Desk Institute - Desktop Support Technician, ITIL Certifications.
