Anschutz Medical Campus Student Services has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Student Health Promotions Manager position.

Jobs in this career family support students' emotional and physical well-being and intellectual, cultural and social development outside the context of the formal instruction program or traditional academic unit. Functions include student counseling, career guidance, residence life, multicultural affairs, support of student activities and organizations, recreation services and intramural athletics administration.
Program Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a program, function or work unit, including the Development and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes. These positions typically do not supervise others.
The Student Health Promotion Manager (SHPM) is responsible for providing oversight, leadership and direction for the development and implementation of evidence-based programming and initiatives designed to support student wellbeing and success in two portfolios: Student Health Promotion and Student Health Insurance. The main responsibilities in the student health insurance portfolio will be to respond to student inquiries and provide information about the mandatory insurance coverage at the Anschutz Medical Campus, other university-sponsored health services, deadlines for compliance and application forms, and the appeal process as well as create a seamless online experience for the student user. The main responsibilities of the Student Health Promotion portfolio will be to create, mobilize and sustain a vibrant campus-wide student health promotion program that supports a holistic model of wellness. This position will work with partners across the campus to assess, plan, implement and evaluate wellness initiatives that promote a healthy campus environment for students. In order to effectively manage these responsibilities, the candidate needs to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational and collaboration skills.
Student Health Insurance: The SHPM provides excellent customer service and guidance to all CU Anschutz students in navigating their health insurance needs and enrollment in the CU Anschutz Student Health insurance program. Specific duties related to SHIP are as follows: managing enrollment and cancellations, customer service and serving understanding student health care needs. These tasks often require follow up with other departments within CU Anschutz as well as outside vendors to ensure seamless service. SHPM is responsible to assist students with the waiver process by evaluating and rendering independent decisions regarding comparability of various group and individual policies to the requirements established by CU and the Board of Regents. SHPM is expected to use research, resources and independent judgment based on experience and training to make decisions in their daily work. SHPM communicates student health insurance offerings to students and Schools and Colleges and attends events on behalf of the student health insurance offerings. This position resolves student member issues via phone, email, and discussion, and reports on and identifies patterns in inquiries. The SHPM ensures the creation of eligibility files as appropriate, uploads appropriate eligibility files to appropriate vendors via email and secure FTP, and requests any necessary reporting from vendors. This position tracks payment files, including appeals and adjustments.
Student Health Promotions: The SHPM provides oversight and direction for assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive student health and wellness initiatives within the OCSS and in collaboration with CU Anschutz campus partners. This position conducts and incorporates campus-wide needs assessments, literature reviews, and program evaluations processes, and convenes a campus-wide student health promotion committee including representative from central campus services and Schools and Colleges. The SHPM initiates, leads and collaborates on health promotion efforts across campus including organizing and managing signature campus programming events such as national alcohol screening day, alcohol awareness week, the great American Smokeout and Stressfest and related programming. This position organizes and participates in educational outreach, such as information tabling and classroom presentations, while incorporating the principles of diversity and social justice concepts into all health promotion and wellness activities.
The SHPM administers, compiles and maintains the Biennial Report for the Department of Higher Education on substance free school zones, as part of a comprehensive campus-wide prevention. The SHPM assists campus resources in conducting the National College Health Assessment every three years, compiling the results, and presenting the data to the university community.
Other Duties: The SHPM is responsible for content management website for student health promotion and student health insurance, and may post to social media outlets as appropriate. This position utilizes campuses technology portals. Other duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $48,750 to $69,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in health education/ health promotion, public health, higher education, student affairs, social sciences or directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

- A Master's degree health education/ health promotion, public health, higher education or other health-related field; or pursuit of Master's degree in student affairs, education, health promotion or related field.
