Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences educates students in agricultural education, leadership and youth, family, and community sciences. We aim to improve the health and well-being of youth, families, and communities, both locally and globally. We do this through academic programs in agricultural and extension education and youth, family, and community sciences that are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Faculty in the Department work across the functions of extension, research, and teaching to serve students and stakeholders.
Essential Job Duties: This is a 12-month EHRA non-faculty position in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences at NC State University. The position provides overall leadership for the secondary agricultural education programs in North Carolina. The position will also serve as the State Advisor for the North Carolina FFA Association. Additional responsibilities include serving as a liaison with the Director and staff in Career and Technical Education in the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The position will work under the leadership of the Department Head of Agricultural and Human Sciences at NC State University. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to: * Provide leadership for school-based agricultural education programs throughout North Carolina. * Coordinate and direct the activities of Regional Agricultural Education Coordinators and the State FFA Coordinator in the areas of program planning, curriculum development, professional development for agriculture teachers, and the total FFA program. * Develop and maintain effective working relationships with: ** Local and county school personnel. ** North Carolina Department of Public Instruction leadership. ** Agricultural education faculty in the four university agricultural teacher education programs in the state, other states, and national agencies and organizations in agriculture and agricultural education.
Minimum Education/Experience: * Master's degree (or higher) in Agricultural Education, or related field and a minimum of 3 years of agricultural education teaching experience.
Department Required Skills: * Demonstrated leadership experience in educational settings or professional organizations. * Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Necessary Licenses and Certifications: * A valid drivers license is required for travel. NC drivers license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
