Position Summary: The Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease (CGIBD) is the stand-alone research department serving investigators who have an interest in digestive disease research. The goal of the CGIBD are to improve the environment for digestive disease research. The Center achieves these goals through scientific research cores that provide services, assays and animals, an enrichment program of seminars, vising professors and symposia, and pilot\feasibility awards to support career development. Application Analyst will be responsible for software development of web-based data capture, management and dissemination systems supporting gastroenterology research. This position will work with a team of scientists, operations staff and fellow developers.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or -Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in bus iness application consulting or development; or -Associate's degree in Computer Programming and one year of experience in application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires an additional one year of experience.

Qualification and Experience: Proficiency in computer languages: Java, Java Script, PHP, SQL. Oracle and MySQL database development and Ruby on Rails web development framework strongly preferred. Experience with data management. Organizational skills and ability to plan, implement and evaluate project goals and objectives. Strong attention to detail and ability to understand and describe complex processes. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prefer candidates with proficiency programming using Ruby on Rails, proficiency with Oracle database programming, PHP, JavaScript. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 - 3 years of relevant software development experience. Prefer candidates with a Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in software development; or -Associate's degree in Computer Science and four years of software development experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
