Job Description
The Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Instructional Lab Supervisor to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Assist in design and construction/set up, maintenance, and planning of undergraduate biomedical engineering laboratory courses, working along side faculty.
* Be responsible for maintaining, calibrating and at times, operating research equipment and training graduate students in research laboratories.
* Develop specialized skills to assist in carrying out work on research with BMEN faculty, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Master's Degree in related field and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Working knowledge of equipment and instrumentation appropriate to the nature of the lab and/or the discipline, and of supplies including operation, set-up, storage, and maintenance.
* Working knowledge of instructional applications related to the laboratory and/or the discipline.
* Ability to make effective presentations of experiments or software, and provide instruction in laboratory techniques, use of equipment, use of software, procedures, and safety rules.
* Ability to supervise work performed by others.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Masters in Biomedical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Biology or related field with three years experience in related field.
* Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Biology or related field and four years experience in related field or eight years experience in related field.
* The candidate must have strong communication skills and be knowledgeable of common laboratory tools and software, spectroscopy, bio-material characterization, as well as biological instrumentation, is desirable, as is experience with the design and outfitting of laboratory experiments.
