Advertised Job Summary
Provides skilled planned and corrective cross-functional maintenance and repair services relating to mostly HVAC mechanical needs but to a smaller degree also to other trades areas potentially including electrical carpentry, plumbing, and painting that serve designated facilities on the Columbia campus of the University of South Carolina.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
High school diploma and 5 years commercial maintenance and repair services relating to all mechanical and HVAC systems. Must be EPA universal refrigerant certified or obtain certification within 6 months of hiring date. Valid South Carolina driver's license required.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of the application and use of testing equipment utilized in checking, testing, and analyzing mechanical systems such as volt, ohm and amp meters, phase and rotation testers, vibration analysis equipment, mega-ohm meters, multi-meters, static pressure meter, etc. Knowledge and experience in the fabrication and installation of materials and equipment required by HVAC and its control systems and the knowledge or national and local codes requirements.
