Office of Inspector General Services
Conducts internal audits, including determining the audit scope and objectives, and developing the audit program. Conducts audits in accordance with applicable assurance and consulting standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors. Reviews internal controls for efficiency and effectiveness and compliance matters significant to the audit objectives as part of conducting each audit. Communicates the results of audits in written reports provided for supervisory review. Develops recommendations to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Conducts follow up to monitor and ensure that management actions have been effectively implemented or that senior management has accepted the risk of not taking action.
Carries out other duties as deemed appropriate by the Chief Audit Officer or the Director of Audits/Investigations. Examples of such duties include assisting in internal assessments as part of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program required by Institute of Internal Auditors' standards, assisting in investigations of fraud, waste, abuse or other wrongdoing, etc.
A Bachelor's degree in a related area and two years of related professional experience.
Experience conducting audits, investigations, or similar types of reviews.
Experience working with confidential or sensitive information.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and work in a demanding fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of appropriate professional standards, including the Institute of Internal Auditors International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
Higher education experience

Related professional certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
