Behavioral Sciences & Social Medicine – College of Medicine
This position is a part-time research assistant position. S/he will serve as research assistant for a studies focused on mental health in communities, including maternal mental health.
Provide fundamental research support to projects, specialized areas, and technical staff including duties such as entering data, performing literature searches, and compiling and organizing research data.
Responsible for set up and demonstration of research documents, materials, instruments, or equipment for use by students, faculty, and research staff.
Assist faculty members with the development of experiments and community research development.
Assist with logistical details of various new and ongoing research projects, work with project directors to identify project deadlines and receivables, develop timelines for projects with project directors.
Assist with recruitment of research project participants.
Minimum of a high school diploma and some college.
The position will require flexibility in order to meet project deadlines.
An ability to translate, adapt, and apply this knowledge to perform research in a health science field or discipline.
Preference given to college-level coursework / specialization in psychology, biology, public health, social work, or a related field.
Previous research experience or coursework is preferred.
Previous experience with computerized spreadsheet, and data base programs (SPSS, ACCESS).
This is an OPS/temporary Job.
Soft Money Funded Position
This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
