Position Overview

Prepare standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. Compile and analyze financial information. Prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for local, national and private funding, contracts, and/or grants.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Forecasting, Analysis Functions:

Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Finance for Campus Enterprises, the Financial Analyst's primary responsibilities are to:

Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations;

Preparation, review and distribute monthly financial reports to all divisions of Campus Enterprises;

Assist in the budget & reforecast process;

Maintain budget and reforecast information in the accounting system;

Prepare quarterly operating reports;

Prepare annual financial information binder to be provided to the external auditors;

Create and update Reports within Tableau, Banner, Star Rez, EMS, etc.;

Coordinate financials questions/answers among various Campus Enterprises divisions.

Accounting Functions:

Helps reconciliations review verifying Meal Plan participation and invoices from meal Plan vendor and necessary documentation for vendor payment.

Helps reconcile accounts for student, faculty and staff, and external customers.

This position will maintain files with required documentation.

Will help supervisor prepare monthly managerial financial statements.

Will review financial statements and give guidance to executive team.

Helps set financial policies within Campus Enterprises.

Works with customers when they have concerns about our financial policies.

Performs analysis of various ledger accounts, cash transactions, and account deposits.

Assists with the preparation of deposit slips and the deposit of cash receipts.

Conduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established/required timeline.

Review the suitability of internal control design.

Determine compliance with policies and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field plus 6+ years of relevant work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.
