Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Alumni, Parent and Donor Engagement/Orange and Maroon Club Manager will work with others in the department and the University Relations division to assist with the identification, qualification, solicitation and cultivation of prospective donors to the university. As Orange and Maroon Club Manager, this position oversees activity aimed at increasing gifts to support athletics. In addition, the Assistant Director will provide support to engagement campaigns.
Specific Responsibilities
• Conduct face-to-face visits and solicitations from a pool of alumni, parents and friends to gauge interest and capacity in giving to Susquehanna University, with a goal of soliciting leadership level gifts at $1,000 or more.
• Oversee and manage programs and campaigns for athletics fund-raising. Work cooperatively with the director of athletics and coaches to coordinate communication efforts and fundraising appeals to alumni, parents and other donors.
• Organize and manage programs that recognize giving and provide stewardship for donors, including:
o Levels of giving
o Consistency/continuity of giving
o Campaigns like reunion fund raising, crowd funding, etc.
o Others as needed
• Develop a working knowledge of the advancement data base system in order to lookup, enter and track information about prospects.
• Work with all members of the division as appropriate to advance the goals of the university. This will include supporting such events as Homecoming, Family Weekend, donor relations events, and other similar events and activities that promote the mission and vision of the university.
• Contribute to the overall success of the Susquehanna University Fund and the University by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational and project management skills; proficiently skilled with database software, e-mail, calendar and Microsoft Office; knowledge of or ability to learn Advancement software (currently Ellucian Colleague Advancement); ability to manage multiple tasks; ability to effectively interact with alumni, parents, students, faculty, and administration; skilled in written and oral communication, as well as, an attention to accuracy; ability to work independently and take initiative; ability and willingness to travel. Flexibility in work hours as position requires occasional evening work and some weekends.
Bachelor's degree required.
Valid U.S. driver's license required. Physical Demand
Normal office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work required, as well as overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of experience in a sales or customer relations role and knowledge of Higher Education fundraising preferred.
